Transfer Thermal API manufactures various variations of heat exchangers. The Type 500 design, as well as the Hub design, are also available in U-Tube configurations. However, to meet the basic needs of industrial heating and cooling applications, the BWS and BW U-Tube Model exchangers feature highly standardized structures at an affordable price. BWS is designed for steam from water, and BW for water-to-water service. There are units available as immersion tank heat exchangers.
Shell and Tube U-Tube Heat Exchangers
These heavy-duty U-tube heat exchangers, built according to Sections VIII and I of the ASME Code, have thermal expansion and contraction of the vessel, providing protection against damage caused by natural forces during heating and cooling. As one end of the bundle is free to float, the unit remains safe even under excessive thermal cycling. This makes it ideal for use with steam as the heating medium.
